Our "Shoji Paper" is the highest quality paper of laminated "Washi" paper manufactured in Japan by the leading manufacturer of Shoji paper (as seen below), and is specified in books on the subject. Shoji paper can also incorrectly be known as " rice paper ".

Rice paper is a thinner paper and rice paper is also used in the manufacture of Chinese and Japanese lanterns. Shoji paper can be used in Shoji screens inside and outside Japanese homes and tea houses, used extensively for covering lighting fixtures, and can also be used to fabricate lantern windows for granite lanterns in the garden ( as preferred in Japan) instead of using opaque acrylic sheet.
