Green Oak/ Softwood Kunamoto Shelter
This small shelter can provide an interesting backdrop to a japanese Garden installation. Reminiscent of a Teahouse the shelter can have an open (as illustrated) top, bamboo poles or weatherproof shoiji acrylic panel.
In this case the design has been inspired by the aesthetics of Japan and features kokedama, plants that seem to be suspended within the garden.
Ideal for hot tub privacy or as a windbreak to sit and admire your garden
The versatile strong construction is traditional mortice and tenon construction in either softwood ot green oak and the configuration of open panels, enclosed sections can be to clients choice. The design illustrated shows a fixed back section with acrylic panel which could be back lit for effect with a sliding section to the rhs facing which would give additional privacy
As can be seen many variations can be acheived with this versatile structure
Green Oak is unseasoned Oak.
The building was the centrepiece of Maia Sautelet's award winning garden at Hampton Court Fower Show 2012 "Two but not Two" which evoked Bhuddist themes. Installation was by The Rakes Progress garden design and maintenance company.
The pricing is subject to your own requirements and is an indication only. The price, however includes for a timber floor and 2 sides of flat deck. The teahouse is supplied sectional and would require some DIY fixing
The framing is traditional mortice and tenon construction and each teahouse is assembled and marked by our joiner before dispatch.
