Modern Japanese Garden, Notting Hill, London

Indoor meets outdoor in central London. Distinct colours in granite grey, warm earth and creme white tones in contrast to bright green grasses and ferns. Japanese lanterns, thick bamboo and a black water rill enhances the modern Japanese theme.

This garden was designed to bring some Japanese influences into a London space, where indoor meets outdoor in a natural way. Subtle light from the Kaku shrine lantern reflecting the black water rill combined with the tranquil sound from the Suidoukan Spout gives character and calm to this London garden situated in a busy area.

The upper lounging area with its huge plane tree as an umbrella is a perfect spot for reading and relaxing including a Japanese granite sculpture and a beautiful bamboo wall as a back drop which makes the space feel pleasant and contemporary all year around.

Bespoke benches and hidden storage with a private dining area close to the property gives great views of the garden while eating.

The garden and property has been designed to give the space as much natural light as possible and the plants carefully chosen, used in Japanese gardens which enhances the feeling of a modern Japanese garden in central London.
