Tatami flooring is a traditional Japanese and Oriental floor covering made from tightly woven igusa (rush grass) over a firm straw or modern composite core. Mats are modular, rectangular, and laid in calm, ordered patterns that subtly define the proportions of a room. Our mats have the traditional core of straw.
Underfoot, tatami feels gently resilient and warm, with a light, natural scent. It helps regulate humidity, offers soft insulation, and creates a quiet, grounding atmosphere—ideal for spaces intended for rest, contemplation, or barefoot living.
