The Black Angel is designed to suggest a naturally occurring standing stone rather than a conventional fountain. Its dark marble colouring and irregular chiselled surface give it a quiet geological quality, while moving water softens the substantial vertical form.

At approximately 70–80cm high and 100kg, it provides a strong focal point for a larger Japanese garden. It would work particularly well with moss, dark gravel, Japanese maples and naturalistic stone groupings.
