The Kominka Dining Range

Inspired by the honest simplicity of traditional Japanese farmhouse furniture, the Japangarden Kominka dining table is a substantial piece of timber craftsmanship designed to bring natural character to the home and garden.

Each table is made to order from reclaimed larch or English oak, with a broad plank top, robust square legs and straightforward timber bracing. The construction is deliberately uncomplicated, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to take centre stage. Visible grain, knots, splits and variations in colour give every table its own identity, reflecting the history and individuality of reclaimed timber.

Available in a range of lengths, from compact dining tables to an impressive 4.5-metre communal table, the Kominka collection accommodates both intimate family dining and larger gatherings. The longer designs are conceived as architectural pieces in their own right, with substantial proportions and a strong, practical construction.

Matching backless benches are available to create a coordinated dining arrangement. Together, the tables and benches offer a restrained interpretation of Japanese farmhouse design, combining natural materials, simple lines and enduring functionality.

Each piece is finished with a natural Blanchon treatment, selected to preserve the appearance of the timber. The result is furniture that sits comfortably alongside Japanese garden features, natural stone, bamboo and traditional architectural materials.
